Staying Vigilant With Online Safety

There is always going to be unsafe, unkind and unhealthy content floating around on the internet. As a partnership of parents and educators we must be constantly vigilant and proactive about knowing what children have access to both at school and in the home. The Office of the Australian eSafety Commissioner is an excellent resource for schools and parents alike to utilise in efforts to prevent children from accessing inappropriate content and support for children who have been exposed to such content. St Michael’s recommends all parents visit the following website to ensure that just as we supervise children’s physical safety, so too must we work together to supervise their digital safety. https://www.esafety.gov.au/parents

Imaginative Play

This week some very long cardboard rolls appeared outside for the Junior students to play with. These items transported our imaginations to create telescopes, limbo bars, didgeridoos and even as a way to measure how tall our teachers are! What creative young minds we have at St Michael’s.

Athletics Carnival

On Wednesday we were able to celebrate our Athletics Carnival track events at Ern Clark Athletics Centre. The weather was perfect and students competed to the best of their abilities. Big thank you to all the parents who assisted on the day from scoring, setting up, awarding ribbons and supporting our successful event. Congratulations to Mercy faction for taking out the Track and Field Athletics shield for 2020.
