Dear Parents and Caregivers

Congratulations to all our students who received the Sacrament of the Eucharist for the first time on Sunday! We hope you and your families enjoyed your very special day! Thank you to Mr Caddy, Mr Powles, Mrs Stewart and all staff who assisted in the preparations. Our thanks also go to Jonathan Fernandes and his team of musicians for leading the music so beautifully!

Confirmation

As per the directive by The Most Reverend Timothy Costelloe SDB, Archbishop of Perth, the celebration of Confirmation remains temporarily suspended whilst Phase 4 of the Western Australian Government’s COVID-19 roadmap remains in place. On Friday 7 August, Premier McGowan announced that Phase 4 will remain in place until at least 29 August 2020. Rather than risk setting a date and having to postpone, especially given that Stage 4 restrictions have been postponed on two occasions thus far, we will wait for notification from the Archbishop before we set a date. As soon as we know more, we will notify the Year 6 parents. Thank you for your patience!

P & F Bogan Bingo – Friday 28 August

Information was sent home this week via email regarding purchasing tickets for the P & F Bogan Bingo event. Tables are limited due to social distancing requirements so please organise your tickets asap.

Fathers’ Day Breakfast Thursday 3 Sept – Kindy to Year 6 Dads are Welcome!

A reminder that our Fathers’ Day breakfast and morning activities is scheduled for before school on Thursday 3rd September. Our apologies to the Kindy dads – postponement of student free days due to COVID-19 and the limited option of alternative dates in Term 3 has meant that our Fathers’ Day event is not on a Kindy day as it normally would be. However, please be aware that our Kindy dads are still most welcome to attend with their child/ren! More information will be provided closer to the date.

Kindy 2021 and Three-Year-Old Program (3YOP)

We still have a few places left for Kindy 2021 but these are steadily filling up. Please spread the word to friends and family in the area. A reminder that any existing families with siblings for Kindy 2021 must complete an enrolment form – we don’t want to inadvertently give your place away! The Assistant Principals will be commencing interviews for existing families this term.

Currently, we do not have enough enrolment interest to run a 3YOP in 2021. With the financial difficulties that many families are currently facing due to COVID-19, we have decided to postpone any plans for a 3YOP in the near future.

School Photos

A reminder that school photos are coming up on Wednesday 26 August. This is a timely reminder to please ensure that all students have the correct, full winter uniform ready for photo day including a school jumper, black school shoes and a conservative hair style. Some boys’ haircuts that are not consistent with our uniform are starting to creep in again. A reminder that hair should not be dyed and should not be partly shaved with a much longer section of hair on top. We ask parents to support us with the uniform policy as this is a condition of enrolment.
