The health, safety and wellbeing of our communities and our people is our first priority. Free Access to URSTRONG Family Membership

As you will be aware, the URSTRONG Friendology program forms part of our school’s wellbeing program, and our school language for friendships is based on the 4 Friendology Friendship Facts:
1. No friendship is perfect
2. Every friendship is different
3. Trust and respect are the 2 most important qualities of a friendship
4. Friendships change….and that’s okay

URSTRONG have offered to provide parents with free lifetime access to our URSTRONG Family membership as a way of supporting families throughout the COVID-19 outbreak. This includes their Language of Friendship video series as well as our Parent Resource Centre with extensive activities, articles, and videos for parents to share with their kids. To access this complimentary membership please visit here and use the coupon code URSTRONG.

I strongly encourage you to take up this offer while it is available and to use their valuable resources to provide support to your child with their school friendships.

Late Arrivals to School

Please note, if your children are late to school (ie arrive after 8:40am), they must be signed in at the Office. Otherwise they will show as absent on the roll. Thank you.

Absence Calls/Notes/Emails

Please note, after an absence a SIGNED NOTE needs to be provided to the teacher on your child’s return to school. The Department of Education Services has confirmed that whilst an SMS or phone message is NOT a substitute for a signed note when reporting absences, an email meeting the following criteria can be accepted:

  • FULL name of the student
  • CLASS / roll group of the student
  • Date
  • Reason for the absence
  • FULL NAME of the PARENT/GUARDIAN at the end of the message (the ‘from’ email address is not sufficient).

Please send emails meeting the above criteria to:  admin@stmichaelsbass.wa.edu.au or fill in the online absentee form on the Connected app.

Please note, teachers do not get to sit down and check their emails first thing in the morning, so if you have emailed the teacher regarding your child’s absence, they may not receive the information until later in the day. Therefore, please do not be upset if you receive an SMS or phone call from the Office to clarify the absence. For this reason, a phone call to the ABSENTEE LINE 6278 9802 is a more efficient way of communicating an absence than an email to the class teacher.
